Warehouse Management
The UA Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a key part of the UA Business Software supply chain management. It is tightly integrated with UA Material Management The primarily objective of the system is to control the movement and storage of materials within one or more warehouses and process the associated transactions, including shipping, receiving, stocking and picking. The systems optimizes stocking based on real-time information about the status of bin utilization. The WMS tracks the progress of products through the warehouse which involves the physical warehouse infrastructure, tracking systems, and communication between warehouse locations. More precisely, WMS involves the receipt, storage and movement of goods, raw material or finished goods), to intermediate storage locations or to a final customer. The WMS utilizes automatic identification and data capture technology through the use of barcode scanners, mobile computers, and wireless LAN to efficiently monitor the flow of products. Once data has been collected, it is transmitted real time to the UA Material Management System for reporting the status of goods in the warehouse or plant. The WMS can be configured as a warehouse for stocking goods or a manufacturing plant or a combination of booth. The WMS structure consists of one or more warehouse with one or more storage location and with the storage locations are one or more bins.
